Make a concrete walkwa.I'm going to tell you about a special program from Advil, where you can win up to fifteen thousand dollars to realize your next DIY project. So we used a wok maker form to make this pathway and I use Quikrete 5000. As my concrete mix, I'm going to start by scraping away any mulch or loose dirt, the ground wasn't. Even so, I had to dig a little bit to level it out. I then put down a layer of 3/4 inch, gravel and then used a hoe to pack it down. The walk maker form is about two feet by two feet, but it's designed in a really clever modular way so that you can keep turning it.
A quarter of the turn and they fit together, but they look randomized. So it looks like natural stone. Almost I'm going to use Quikrete 5000 to fill the form. One of the nice things is that the formwork was designed to take a single eighty-pound bag of Quikrete. So you can plan out your project. Accordingly, one bag of concrete mix equals one fill-up of the mold. I followed the instructions on the bag and use the trowel to pack the mold full of wet concrete. I made sure to really push the wet concrete into every corner of the mold before removing it properly mixed concrete will hold its form right away, and I just use the trowel to scrape away some of the extra wet concrete that it sort of spilled over the Sides of the mold mixing, a bag of concrete by hand, is pretty strenuous work, and what I like about this system is that you can make one module of the walkway at a time.
So if you have a couple hours on a weekend, you can knock out a couple sections. If you have a whole day, then you can knock out a few more, but you won't have half empty bags of concrete left over. You can trowel the surface smooth or just leave it rough. You can even bevel the edges a little bit now as the concrete cures. You'll want to spray it periodically with water to prevent cracking. I use the country stone pattern and you could actually use the system for not just making a walkway but a whole patio on the system from Quikrete this summer, home improvement, expert carter.
